She obtained her Bachelor\u2019s of Science in Nursing at the University of MS Medical Center in 2001.<\/p><p>She gained experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and Post Anesthesia Care Unit at UMC. She also spent several years working as a travel nurse. In 2009, she completed her Master\u2019s of Science in Nursing at the Mississippi University for Women.<\/p><p>As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she has worked primarily in health and wellness, advocating health promotion and disease prevention. As part of the team at Southern Medical Consultants, her focus will be geared toward providing primary and acute care to the elderly in various nursing home and assisted living settings.<\/p><p>Melissa is a member of the MS Association of Nurse Practitioners and Mississippi Nurses\u2019 Association. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a long-standing member of Pinelake Church. She loves the Lord and hopes to live life according to His calling, serving others and growing in Christ.
